While taking photographs around Chiltern I had stopped for lunch and returned to my car. As I sat there, I noticed a lot of activity in the tree beside me… a group of Yellow-footed Antechinus (what’s the plural of Antechinus?). The tree was partially hollow and they were scrambling around…
Not the greatest quality (heavily cropped and grass/foliage between us), but I was still happy to get a photo of this Yellow-footed Antechinus at Lappin’s Dam, near Chiltern.
There weren’t just birds at Chiltern. While quietly waiting for something to photograph I frequently had Swamp Wallabies come in to visit. I saw this one with joey coming in to drink early in the morning, and late afternoon.
